Stickam Joins With TEKDBZ to Host ‘Stickam Dance Off’ Online Dance Competition

Dance fever storms the Internet with the announcement today of the “Stickam Dance Off,” the first ever, online dance competition that challenges rump shakers across the nation to show off their best moves to a worldwide audience. Hosted by Stickam, the Internet’s most powerful, free video communications player, in partnership with the TEKDBZ DJ collective, the “Stickam Dance Off” begins today and runs through Sunday, October 1, 2006 with the winner being announced on Monday, October 2, 2006.

To compete for a shot at the title, users simply need to visit the Stickam.com Web site and click on the “Stickam Dance Off” link. TEKDBZ has created the hot music track for competitors to show off their moves to and contestants can either record their dance video directly to the Stickam player using a Webcam or shoot it offline and then upload it to their Stickam player.

The rules are simple. Contestants must use the TEKDBZ track for music, the video they upload must be of them and each person can vote once for each video they like or dislike. All the uploaded videos will be available on the “Stickam Dance Off” contest page where Stickam visitors can vote for their favorite video. The three most popular videos will be selected as the winners. The “Stickam Dance Off” champion receives $500 along with the bragging rights of being the Internet’s top video dancer. Second place takes home $300 and third place garners $200.
