To celebrate the release of Shrek the Third
on DVD, Blockbuster has created a Shrek-themed website where visitors can enter the “Great Gift Giveaway” online sweepstakes. Fabulous instant prizes are available, including four grand prize trips to Hawaii from Travelocity. Additional prizes include hotel stays from Starwood Hotels, one year of free movie rentals from Blockbuster, VIP Blockbuster Game Passes, Blockbuster Total Access online rental memberships, and packages of Orville Redenbacher Microwave popcorn. Even entrants who don’t win a prize will receive special offers from Blockbuster and everyone who enters will also receive a one-time offer for 25 free 4×6 prints from Snapfish. Customers can enter to win once per calendar day, and no purchase or payment of any kind is required to enter.
The website also features a just-for-fun interactive “Snowball Toss” game in which players can throw snowballs — carnival-style — at the movie’s villainous cast of characters, including Rapunzel, Prince Charming and more. Customers may play the game whether they enter the online sweepstakes or not.
