World’s Smartest Person Challenge
Today the International High IQ Society formally announced the launch of its World’s Smartest Person Challenge. Running through October 31, 2006, the competition uses the Society’s 25 specially-designed questions to challenge the intellectual elite from around the globe.
“We are looking for the best of the best,” explains Nathan Haselbauer, President of the Society and author of the test. “This is not your average puzzle contest. This is a brain-buster, a true ‘Power Test’ that will challenge the brightest people in the world.”
To make the competition truly international in scope, the World’s Smartest Person Challenge is open to the public and has no entry fee.
“Our organization has more than 15,000 members from over 87 countries,” added Haselbauer. “Clearly, intelligence knows no borders, and by employing the Internet we can open our contest to literally hundreds of millions of people.”
While everyone is encouraged to take the test, most people will find its questions to be mind-wrenchingly difficult. The Challenge consists of 25 fill- in-the-blank questions and is designed to be so difficult that gifted individuals will get average scores and only geniuses will be able to achieve the highest scores. The average person who takes the test answers less than two questions correctly.
“The Society has designed one of the hardest tests I have ever seen,” says Bill Bultas, founder of Puzz.com, one of the Internet’s most popular destinations for IQ measurement, puzzles, and brainteasers. “I have hundreds of tests available on my website and very few of them can compare to this one.”
