Hallmark Flowers Celebrates Mother’s Day With Second Annual Showers of Flowers Essay Contest
At the heart of many of life’s unforgettable memories stands a loving, endearing figure who many simply know as “mom.” This Mother’s Day, six moms (or someone just like a mom) across the country will experience something unforgettable as well, when they are selected to receive a beautiful bouquet of Hallmark Flowers every month for an entire year as part of the “Second-Annual Showers of Flowers” essay contest.
Shower Mom With Flowers for a Whole Year
Last year’s contest brought in thousands of essays describing the strength, kindness, and devotion that are synonymous with motherhood. The “Second-Annual Showers of Flowers” essay contest looks to build upon that success by continuing to give sons and daughters a unique outlet to express their appreciation and thanks to mothers for all they are, and do.
“When someone says the word ‘mom,’ it brings to mind warm memories of her caring manner, unconditional love, and her gentle smile,” said Jay Waddell, marketing manager, Hallmark Flowers. “Reflecting on and appreciating the sacrifice mothers make is what Mother’s Day is all about, and Hallmark Flowers’ essay contest will give people a chance to express their emotions about that special lady in their life.”
Entrants can visit http://www.hallmarkflowers.com to submit an essay of no more than 100 words expressing their feelings for their mother, mother-in-law, or someone who is like a mother to them, and why she should be showered with flowers for a whole year.
The contest begins April 24, 2006, and all entries must be submitted online by 11:59 p.m. EDT May 6, 2006. Submissions will be judged by a panel of Hallmark’s creative experts who will select six wonderful women to receive 12 months worth of Hallmark Flowers bouquets. Winners will be notified prior to Mother’s Day and officially announced to the public May 15, 2006, on http://www.hallmarkflowers.com.
